OBITUARY

Leighton Evans
8-9-1961 to 11-02-2010

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Leighton Evans.

Many of you will know and remember Leighton for the years of effort and commitment he put into not only the playing of our 'beautiful game' of Bat and Trap, but also to the running of the Sevenoaks and District Bat and Trap League.

Leighton played for the Blacksmiths Arms at Cudham from 1995 to 2000 and helped contribute to a number of successes in the league, knockout, triples and one-day events. He was also largely influential in setting up the Old Jail team in 2001.

He was a very active Chairman of the league from 2001 to 2003, and made many improvements to the way the league was run, including setting up the website, upgrading the trophies and establishing a successful annual presentation evening.

Due to work commitments he "retired" from playing and also resigned as Chairman after the 2003 season, handing over a healthy league bank balance and a successful and much improved league.

He will be sadly missed by friends and family.

Facebook hits Bat and Trap! Ladies and gentlemen, in order to keep our 'beautiful game' trendy and modern, we now have a Facebook page for our league. Some of you will be familiar with Facebook, some of you will not. It can be used to communicate with other players/teams, post pictures and generally have a bit of fun with. It has only just gone live, so it is pretty empty at the moment. Feel free to log in and become a 'fan'. Click here to be directed to the Facebook page.
